Testimonial to Silver Lining Herbs
Towards the end of 2007 we were looking for another young horse for Vicky to ride and complete during the 2008 season.
After travelling all over looking at many horses, with limited success, we found Toby.
As a four year old he had just been broken in. Whilst he wasn’t exceptionally thin, his coat was poor and his skin covered in small lumps, his eyes were dull and his overall condition needed vast improvement.
He did move nicely though and he seemed a very willing and genuine horse.
We bought him assuming that through proper feeding we would be able to improve him in a relatively short period of time.
We started by having the dentist rasp his teeth and altering his diet slowly but we made no progress with him, if anything, he lost condition over the course of January and into February and regardless of the food types we tried, everything just ran through poor Toby!
We introduced him to the vet and tried a number of treatments aimed at stabilising his gut, again with no success.
We were introduced to Lyn and Johnny through Heidi Woodhead. Heidi spoke extremely highly of the herbs that she feeds to all her horses and the effects they have had.
We were a little sceptical about the idea at first… wondering how these herbs could be effective??!!
We were truly amazed with the results though; within a week of starting administering the liver herbs the consistency of Toby’s droppings improved dramatically and within a fortnight he was eating much better and retaining the goodness in the food we were giving him and his overall condition then started to bloom.
Over the following months we saw a massive change in Toby’s condition, he became stronger and his performance results spoke for themselves.
We started taking him to local Dressage and Jumping events with the view to finishing the summer off by doing an unaffiliated One Day Event.
Toby took part in and actually won his first unaffiliated ODE and so we entered him at two affiliated intro events on day tickets and he was placed 8th and 4th !
Toby is now enjoying a well earned rest for a few weeks after an great summer… he has exceeded all our expectations in his first year with us and we owe it all the Silver Lining Herbs!
All our horses are now fed the ‘Training Mix’ Herbs as standard and we also worm our horses using the ‘Worm Foe’ Herb.
We can honestly say that our horses have never looked so good and performed so well!!
